The Advantages Of Wordpress Compared To Blogger.com

Welcome to my blog.Nowadays, there are many types of blog services on internet. For your information the most popular blog service nowadays on internet is wordpress.May I ask you a question. What blog service you use?Is it wordpress, blogger, typepad or bloglines?Actually you can choose any type of blog services as long as it is comfortable for you.No problem on it.
I had thought to post about this since a long time, but now finally got to write this. I am a fan of wordpress since when I shifted to it from blogger few time ago when I was still new to blogging and to the blogosphere. Both blogger and wordpress are free softwares to use, but the actual fun and reality of blogging is seen only with wordpress.
Before we go more far let’s see what is wordpress all about.WordPress is a blog publishing system written in PHP and backed by a MySQL database. WordPress is the official successor of b2\cafelog, developed by Michel Valdrighi. The name WordPress was suggested by Christine Selleck, a friend of lead developer Matt Mullenweg.
There are many advantage of wordpress compared to blogger.com.One of them is because it is more easier to understand the structure of it coding.Once we know how to use the coding it will make us easy to play with the code such adding new coding or deleting that is not necessary. In other word wordpress is highly customizable with numerous add-on modules for a wide variety of features.
Whereas using blogger.com it is difficult to understand the structure of code. This is because all code is placed in one ‘basket’.Therefore it is quite difficult to add new features on the blogger template especially if you are newbie who do not much about html coding.
Besides that blogger also have other major drawback. For instance if your acct accidently gets wiped at blogger.com, there’s no way to recover it. Even if you publish to your own site, the database to recreate the pages is gone (it lives on blogger.com servers) - you’ll have recreate the content manually - (unless someone knows of a utility to rebuild it).
WordPress offers a lot more flexibility over blogger when it comes to customization and administration. WordPress supports categories, modification of the core files (open source), and plugins for even more features. And because WordPress is hosted on your own account, you leverage your expansion and growth over time.
To make your blog more interesting you can installed any plug in on it.There are many plug in on can be installed. For instance of plug in is Sezwho plug in,top commentators plug in,recent post plug in,useronline plug in and many others. This is the main advantage of wordpress compared to blogger.com
If you plan to post daily and build up a large amount of content,it is adviced that you go with Wordpress. This is because our post can be published automatically on any time we want. What we should is just set the time and date when you want it to be appear on your blog.It is very easy.

The other key advantage for me was the ability to have categories. This allows us to sort our posts in an efficient manner. It won’t necessarily be a requirement for all blogs, but it can certainly help with many that are topic-oriented.In blogger.com we cannot have category like having on wordpress.
Beside that I can say that the other benefit of using wordpress is the use of trackbacks. It is an incredible tool for social networking, and for gaining exposure and inbound links. This is something that we don’t have when we using blogger.com.Wordpress is so great on it.
Other advantage is provided you are hosting it on your own domain wordpress gives you 100% complete control to your blog For me, that’s a priority! If blogging is going to be part of your strategy, you have to host it yourself. Free is good but is a dangerous thing when the provider is also the host which can read and control our blog.
By using wordpress I could install the software to the server under my owned domain name with no sub-domain name structures. Like am on amirulcyber.com which looks lot better than amirulcyber.blogspot.com, and having something behind your desired name doesn’t look brandable.
Beside that the advantage of wordpress is hundreds of pinging services and blog directories with RSS accept all wordpress feeds and are pinged once and always when a post is published in the wordpress blog, and the pinging in their sites can be automated. The same isn’t there with blogger and very few blog directories accept feeds from blogger powered sites. This is enough from my side to explain why wordpress rocks.

Actually…
I don’t agree with this comparison…
Why?
Because WordPress self hosted CANNOT compared to Blogger.com(blogspot.com).
Blogspot/blogger can only be compared with Wordpress.com.
Then the best is still blogger.
If you compare it to WordPress self hosted, ofcoz, WordPress self hosted will win the comparison.
Well, you pay for its hosting and domain name.
It’s in another category…
WordPress is an open source while blogger.com is a free service.
Hence free service(blogger) compare to free service(wordpress.com) too…
Open source(wordpress 2.6.1 I’m using now) compare to open source(Joomla or etcetera)
