Better late than ever, so here is the Blog Revenue Report for July 2008. Travel and keeping busy delayed this report from being posted earlier. Since this is a one year case study for the blog and how you can generate money with a blog, I still wanted to make sure it was posted.

I started generating revenue with this blog in December 2007 and the case study will conclude at the end of November 2008. Last month, the numbers for this blog ended up at   $5,142.72 profit, which just fell short of it’s previous high. The revenue numbers for July 2008 are shown below.

JULY 2008 BLOG REVENUE REPORT:

- Affiliate Sales/Referrals: $2,383.40
- Private Ad Sales: $1,300.33
- Reviews: $500.00
Total Revenue: $4,216.73

- Ad Spots on Blogs: $45.00
- Miva Ad Campaign: $70.55
Total Costs: $115.55

Total Blog Income for July 2008: $4,101.18

The Miva ad campaign is continually sending more traffic each month, but since the traffic is coming directly to the blog, I haven’t set anything up to test the quality of it. I may setup a few ad campaigns and send traffic to offers and follow up with a traffic quality post.

Just targeting “affiliate” type keywords, the blog received 486 clicks in July from Miva. I will let the clicks keep coming through until I exhaust my initial $200 deposit I made into my account. Additional ad spots for ZacJohnson.com were purchased on a few smaller blogs that I read and wanted to show my support for.

This item normally use by blogger who sell physical product.For example of contact information given is telephone number and email.For more faster communication with buyer sometime they put yahoo messenger tool at their sidebar.By placing their contact information at sidebar make it as easy as possible for visitors to contact them.

Blogroll

Many blogger use blogroll to promote their blog by exchange link with other fellow blogger. Beside that many bloggers use blogroll for the purpose of promoting their other blogs,website or online business.For your additional information,blogroll also be used for generating income purpose by many popular bloggers.

List of Categories

To make it easy for your blog readers to find your old content,many bloggers use categories that link to archive of their post.By creating many categories on their blog it will make visitors easy to choose which category they prefer to read first.

By establishing many categories in our it is also can become a strategy to encourage visitors to come again in the future.However this item only available in wordpress blog and not in blogger.com

Archives Item

By having this item at sidebar it is another way to make it easy for readers to find old content on your blog.Archive item normally are arrange according to monthly basis.By arranging like this it will make more easier to reader which month they want to read first.If we have writing many article on your blog therefore it is important to you to have this item at your blog sidebar.

Based on my observation to many blog this item is a compulsory item for many blog.This is because by having this items at sidebar it make easy for their readers to find their latest blog posts.This is a great way to encourage additional page views and keep visitors on your blog longer.

This is another popular sidebar items that compulsory used by blogger in their blog.Sometime blogger put it at header of their blog and sometime they put it at their blog sidebar.But most of blogger including me place this item at blog sidebar.This item is so important in blog because by having this item visitors can become article subscribers of their blog.

However even I have listed the 10 items,actually it up to you how many item and what items you want to at your blog sidebar.It depend on the concept of your blog and suitability of the item to your blog readers.For me all above items are very useful for any wordpress blog.

Dear friends and visitors.Today I want to review an article written by Monica Hendrix which related to forex.Forex Trading is the act of trading currencies from different countries against each other. Forex is acronym of Foreign Exchange.Nowadays forex has become one of way to make money online.Therefore it is important to me touch something about forex in this blog.

Here are ten things you must do and 10 things to avoid when formulating and executing your forex trading strategy. If you want to be successful at forex trading then read and understand the points below there essential to achieve currency trading success

1. Don’t day trade

It doesn’t work! All short term volatility is random so you have no chance of winning longer term.

2. Don’t buy a Currency trading system with..

A hypothetical track record.

These are done in hindsight knowing the closing prices so avoid them. In forex trading its more difficult, you have to make money going forward!

3. Don’t trade off news stories

News is discounted by the markets instantly and is impossible to trade so don’t try.

4. Don’t mix fundamentals and technical

There separate, you are either a technical or fundamental trader - you can’t combine both.

5. Don’t use scientific theories

The king of these is Elliot wave and it doesn’t work.

It’s supposed to be objective but everything about it requires subjective judgement.

If markets moved to a scientific theory we would all know the prices in advance and there would be no market!

6. Be Objective

Use objective criteria to execute trading signals. Avoid subjective theories (like Elliot wave mentioned above) or cycles, these are subjective and mean your emotions can get involved

7. Don’t chase your tail

Gets a currency trading system you are confident in and stick with it. Don’t chop and change it!

8. Don’t forget to place stops immediately

Always place it as soon as you have entered a trade. Never use a mental stop or you will be tempted to run losses.

9. Don’t have an ego

Many traders like to see that market as they want to and not as they really are. Leave you ego behind and accept the market price is the RIGHT price.

10. Don’t work to hard

Many forex traders think the more they put in the more they will get out.

While this is true in many professions, it is not true in the forex markets – you only get rewarded for being right.

Successful forex trading is all about working smart not hard.

Now ten things you must do:

1. Get a simple system you understand

Simple systems work best and you only need a few rules or indicators in it. Don’t complicate it, the more rules and the more parameters, the more likely it is to break or lose in trading.

2. Make sure you have confidence & discipline

Develop it yourself and you will get confidence that leads to discipline. If you try and follow someone else’s system you will lack both and fail.

3. Use a technical approach

Takes less time and also takes into account human psychology which moves all forex prices.

4. Be patient

Only execute your trading system in line with your trading signals and don’t be tempted to chase profits.

5. Always look for confirmation

Never hope a support or resistance level will hold, get the odds on your side by using momentum indicators to confirm first, this will dramatically increase the odds of success.

6. Ignore others

Trade in isolation and ignore others. Don’t discuss what you are doing, this will keep your emotions out of your trading.

7. Have goals & a plan

Have a realistic plan and profit goals. Sure people get rich overnight but their a minority! If you can make 50 – 100% per annum your up there with the best traders.

8. Take risks

Forget restricting risk to much, when you see an opportunity go for it and take calculated risks this is not being rash, it’s the reality of trading FX.

9. Know your edge

If you don’t know your edge i.e. why you should win at forex trading while 95% lose you don’t have one so you will be joining them!

Get the right forex education and know your edge before you begin.

10. Enjoy what you do

If you sweat about positions, feel edgy, or worry about trading it’s not for you. You should view trading as enjoyable and a challenge, if you don’t forget it and do something else.

Dear my friends.Blogging activities should be treated seriously if we want to make money from it.To make money with blogging we have to wait 1 to 3 years or maybe more that before we really successfull.Among the period what should we do is attract traffic as many as we can to your blog.

Content is king of blog whereas traffic key to success.It is obviously know by many blogger but getting traffic to bring to our blog is not as easy as we think. We should consider our blogging activity failed if we cannot attract many traffic to come to our blog.It is serious matter.I am not to afraid you but this is the reality that we should know.

Sometime I wondering why the number of traffic that we need not come to our blog.As we know there are billion internet user use internet everyday but the reality is to get 1000 visitors per day come to our blog is very difficult job.However even it is difficult to get such number of traffic but actually it is not impossible.

Traffic will be more easier to get if we have a rememberable domain name.Domain that easy to remember is one advantage to us in generating traffic.Normally visitors will not forget our domain if it is catchy,unique,funny and different with other domain name.If you have a unique domain name traffic will come naturally to your blog.

However it is not enough to attract traffic come to our blog if it is not supported by our ‘killer’ blog content.Killer blog content is list of article that have quality and useful to reader of our blog.As I said before content is king therefore we should make them fall in love with our blog content by writing something very useful to them.

Blog content is very important thing that we should consider in attracting traffic in long term basis.We should make reader fall in love with our blog content because when they fall in love with our blog content come again and again in the future.One of the blog content function is to maintain our blog traffic.

How to get traffic

There are two biggest way to get huge amount of traffic come to our blog.It is using yahoo and google.com.Both of them are major sources traffic.It is a dream of every internet marketers and bloggers like us.However it is almost impossible to be at top 10 list of both search engine if we are not work hard.

Based on my survey on internet it is true that video can help increase our blog traffic.Imagine if we sent our video to website such as youtube.com which visited by billion people everyday off course many people will watch our video.As blogger we should not ignore generating traffic through video technique like this.

We also can generate traffic by visiting and leaving comments on other blog.In short term it will not result anything but in long term we will see many traffic come to our blog since our credibility has been increased at the eyes of other visitors.Involve by giving comment like this will tell them we are exist in blogging world.

Learning about traffic is one of our job as a blogger.If the purpose of our blogging activity is to generate income from blog like other successful blogger we should make much research on many techniques on how to attract traffic to our blog.If we success to find the powerful technique therefore we have no problem to make money with our blog.
